Waypoint parameters in detail
Each waypoint describes a target and the way to get there: all parameters in detail.
- Pan (heading): the horizontal orientation in degrees. Runs on a continuous scale.
- Tilt: the vertical orientation in degrees. 0 = level (the centred position). Positive values tilt up, negative values tilt down.
- Roll: the rotation around the image axis in degrees. 0 = level horizon. Positive values tilt clockwise, negative values counter-clockwise; roughly 45° are available in each direction. Like pan and tilt, the value is approached over the segment's travel time. The horizon tilts as the camera moves rather than jumping. Osmo Pocket only; on the Insta360 Luna Ultra the roll field is hidden.
- Zoom: the zoom level, shown as a factor (e.g. 1.0× to 12×, depending on the camera).
- Travel time: the time in seconds from the previous waypoint to this one. Determines the pace of the segment.
- 0 = fastest possible approach: the camera moves as fast as reasonably possible. Intended for the move to the first waypoint, where nothing is being filmed yet; a fixed time there is just a brake.
- Hold time: how long the camera stands still after arriving at this waypoint before the next segment begins.
- Record: whether recording happens from this waypoint on. This lets you run an intermediate segment without recording (e.g. an unobtrusive repositioning).
- Optically even zoom: default off. Pathset picks the zoom speed automatically: for a set travel time it uses the calmest step that still reaches the target in time. The travel time is kept and the target zoom is reached. A warning only appears if even the fastest step cannot make it.
- Off: one constant step per segment (chosen automatically), the calm default.
- On: the step increases with the zoom factor during the segment; large zoom moves look even smoother but finish earlier than the set travel time.
