Frequently asked questions

Does the phone have to stay with the camera during the timelapse?

No. The camera records on its own; you can turn off the screen or close the app. Lapset can reconnect later and take over the running timelapse.

Why only four waypoints?

That is a limit of the camera.

Why no roll and no zoom?

In the camera's timelapse mode the camera only moves pan and tilt.

Why does the remaining time pause briefly at the beginning?

After the start the camera needs a few seconds until the first frame; Lapset counts from then on.

The camera display only shows the image, no controls, and does not respond.

Press and hold the record button for 10 to 15 seconds until the display goes dark. The camera restarts and everything is back. Switching it off normally is not enough.

Can I try a move beforehand?

Yes. "Preview" in the editor runs through the points briskly one after the other, without recording. That shows you the start, the end and the framing.

Which resolutions are available?

1080p and 4K on all supported cameras, 2.7K only on the Osmo Pocket 3; each at 25 or 30 fps. With "As on camera" the camera's setting stays unchanged.

How much does Lapset cost?

Lapset is free. Lapset Pro is a one-time purchase (no subscription) that stores your own moves permanently; "Restore purchases" is under ⋯ → "Unlock Pro".

Why don't I see a price?

The Pro page needs an internet connection. While the phone is on the camera's Wi-Fi without mobile data, it shows: "No internet connection. The camera's Wi-Fi has no internet — without mobile data, tap “Disconnect” first, then open this page again."

Where do the videos end up?

On the camera's memory card. Via the media library you save them to your phone, on Android to the gallery (folder "Movies/Lapset"), on iPhone to Photos.
